In Mark 10:13, Jesus gives us a glimpse of His heart:

“And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them,

and the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it, he was

indignant and said to them, ‘Let the children come to me; do not hinder

them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever

does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.’ And he

took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.”

Now as I think about children’s ministry, I am encouraged that the very foundation in which the Christian faith is built off of, the person and work of Christ, reveals to us that children are the “MOST welcomed” into relationship with Him. And, as if his invitation to children was not enough, He sets them as the standard in which anyone must enter into the kingdom of God. Coming out of this past monthly gathering in August we were left with an invitation from God Himself in Isaiah to “come” to Him; and what Mark does here is show us that the very heartbeat of that call is for children to come. The community of believers in Jesus is the most accessible community for your child. Anyone can get in on this!

This call from Jesus in Mark is why we are committed to excellence in children’s ministry. While Sola City finds a specific role in the global mission of God, we also see our children as the most important mission we have as a church. Through this area of ministry, we know that the kingdom of God is coming as the Lion of Judah is on the move like we have never seen before.

Sola City Kids’ 3 core convictions are below:

  1. Gospel-centered Teaching - SC Kids is committed to our children receiving Gospel-centered teaching every time they join us on Sundays. We are currently using the Bible App for Kids which provides weekly teaching that is accessible during the week for parents to use each night with their family.
  2. Safety - We want all of our children and parents to feel that our kid's ministry is safe and trusted. That is why we are committed to allowing only trusted members of our church with extensive background checks to have access to our children's areas.
  3. Creative Interaction - Our aim is to create a fun environment that is fresh and engaging where children experience God’s love for them.

We believe that these three areas of excellence will create an environment in which we act as the hands and feet of Jesus as your child experiences the love and grace of our Savior. From the moment they join us on a Sunday to the moment they leave, they will be loved on, engaged with the Word of God, and welcomed into whole-hearted relationship with Jesus.

We hope that you can pray about how you could join us in ministry to children. Or, maybe you are a family looking for a church home where children and adults are prioritized and accepted. Regardless, we want to lock arms with you in partnership in the Gospel and see what the Lord might do.
